ABRASIVES

Abrasives are generaly used to polish, abrade and clean, as well as to remove solid wastes by means of friction (like the case of grinding wheel or abrasive paper or discs), or pressure in the maintenance of building walls. It has countless industrial and household/domestic applications, the latest being emphasized in the “Do It Yourself” market.

Abrasives are generaly divided in the following categories:
- Grain abrasives (loosen)
- Bonded Abrasives or grinding wheels.
- Coating abrasives (paper, clothe or plastic film) -Super-Abrasives, used in the finishing touches of either very hard or fragile materials (industrial diamonds and CBN).
