COSMETICS The Cosmetics industry covers all the companies that engineer, prepare and create products whose purpose is to make the human body more pretty, wheter by cleaning, colouring, softening or protecting with an external application. The use of cosmetics dates back to ancient times, and though we reckon that cosmetic as we know it today originated in the Far East, the study of ancient cultures show us the existence and use of perfumed oils during the 1st Egyptian Dynasty (3000 years b.C.). It’s a millionaire industry whose growth is constant due to two important social changes, one being the increasing number of people that include these products in their daily routine due to its social growth (economic and cultural) and the other, far more recent, the increasingly large number of men that follow the trend of these type of products, up until now used mainly by women. |
